Glassell Park’s   Santa’s Village
Needs a Home!

Manos Que Sobreviven, at the height of the pandemic in 2020, created a safe, drive-thru Santa’s Village that has been with us every year since.  It was created to give children a holiday celebration to visit with Santa and receive toys, gifts, and food for themselves and their families.

“Santa’s Village” is erected at Irving Steam Magnet School every year and has become a tradition. In

2023 it served 390 children in Northeast LA.

However, the future of Santa’s Village is not secure.  We are looking for a place to store the building facades and welcome a community discussion or host to either store them or place them on a permanent display.

Some suggested locations include:

  • Median of Eagle Rock Bl between Ave 35 and Ave 36

  • Median of Eagle Rock Bl next to the Glassell Park Holiday Tree

  • Somewhere on the Public Storage lot

  • Next to the Glassellland sign at Glassell Recreation Center

To store all the existing buildings together an area approximately 14 ft by 8 feet is needed.  Please contact us with any suggestions.
